SAP Project Experience
The project already had a design. Brazil changed the questions.
Across different stages of my career, I’ve worked on SAP programs that had to revisit their assumptions once they met the Brazilian operation. Sometimes that meant building from the ground up. In others, it meant decoding inherited configuration, redesigning integrations or explaining why a local requirement changed the path the global program had planned.
I selected five experiences that show those differences in practice. Not as a list of clients, but as situations where business processes, SAP, tax, integrations and people had to reach the same decision.
Shell | SAP SD/OTC, Brazil Localization & Tax Integration
When one sales flow depends on decisions across several systems.
At Shell, I worked on the adaptation of a global SAP ECC template for Power and Gas operations in Brazil. The sales flow connected SAP SD/OTC with Brazil Localization, ONESOURCE Tax One, ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Determination (OITD), SONDA Comply and SONDA Comply e-Docs.
Once the global design met the Brazilian operation, sales orders, pricing, tax determination, billing and NF-e could no longer be treated as separate decisions. The challenge was to keep the process coherent across SAP, the tax layer and electronic invoicing.
My role was to support the functional design and decision-making for Brazil, aligning local requirements across the teams involved and helping keep testing and process decisions consistent throughout the landscape.
The Power workstream reached production, providing a clear example of how a global template only works in Brazil when process, tax and electronic invoicing decisions are designed as one end-to-end flow.

Roche | Brazil OTC Lead, S/4HANA & Global Template
When Brazilian requirements have to become global program decisions.
On Roche’s ASPIRE program, I led the Brazil OTC workstream, connecting the global template with Brazilian commercial and tax requirements. The work covered fit-gap analysis across sales, pricing, billing and tax determination, together with the analysis of Vistex-to-SAP pricing interfaces and the changing integration boundary after ONESOURCE Tax One entered the solution.
The challenge was not only to identify local gaps, but to turn them into decisions that could be prioritized, understood and addressed within a broader S/4HANA transformation. My role required keeping Brazil visible without disconnecting it from the global model.
Innospec | Global S/4HANA Greenfield Rollout & Brazil Localization
When Brazil has to be built into the global model from day one.
At Innospec, I designed and implemented Brazil Localization processes for a new Brazilian operation within a global SAP S/4HANA Greenfield rollout. The work connected SAP SD/OTC, sales, pricing, billing and NF-e with SAP MM, FI, GUEPARDO Tax and GUEPARDO e-Invoicing.
From requirements and Brazil-specific process design through RICEF items, testing, go-live and stabilization, the project required local processes to be built as part of the global solution rather than treated as a separate layer added later.
IMI Fabi | S/4HANA, SAP DRC & Brazil Tax Reform
When transformation continues after go-live.
My work with IMI Fabi began in a Brownfield migration from ECC to S/4HANA, within a legacy landscape shaped by extensive customizations and automated processes. I worked across SAP MM, SAP SD, FI integration and Brazil Localization, reconstructing AS-IS logic, designing TO-BE processes, reviewing RICEF items and supporting testing, cutover and go-live.
Later initiatives moved into a different kind of complexity: the migration from SAP GRC NF-e to SAP DRC and the implementation of Brazil Tax Reform requirements across inbound and outbound processes, pricing, tax determination, NF-e, MIGO, MIRO, Smart Tax Platform and CBS/IBS.
Petrobras & BR Distribuidora | SAP MM, SAP IS-OIL & Downstream
When industry-specific operations redefine what standard logistics means.
At BearingPoint, I worked across major downstream programs for BR Distribuidora and Petrobras, progressing from functional consulting to SAP MM and SAP IS-OIL workstream leadership. The work connected procurement, materials management and fuel-distribution processes with business requirements, support, enhancements, training and team coordination.
Later, at Accenture, that experience expanded into SAP project management and IS-OIL leadership on Petrobras initiatives, including a pioneering NF-e implementation and the Ship Solution integrated with MM and SD. These projects became one of the foundations of how I learned to understand the operation before changing the system.
The Pattern Behind the Projects
What changes from one project to the next. And what stays the same.
One project required decisions across several systems. Another required recovering the logic of a legacy landscape. Some required explaining Brazil inside a global transformation; others required learning the operating model of a highly specialized industry.
What stays the same is the responsibility to understand before changing. That means looking beyond MM or SD, connecting FI, tax, electronic invoicing, external solutions and the business operation, and making the consequences of each decision visible. Go-live is not the end of that responsibility. Stabilization, support and regulatory change are part of the same delivery story.

Pioneering NF-e
At Petrobras, I managed a pioneering NF-e implementation during the early adoption of electronic invoicing in Brazil.
International Delivery
At PESA / Petrobras International in Argentina, I led the access-governance workstream for the migration of SAP roles and authorizations.
SOX Controls
On a Petrobras SOX engagement, I led the SAP SD commercial workstream across data extraction, ETL-based reporting, process and control analysis, auditor alignment and audit evidence.
These experiences added governance, controls and international delivery to a career built primarily around SAP processes and Brazil Localization.
